The car came new to Switzerland, the first owner had a factory for parts of watches, one Mr. Zucatti born 1927. His younger brother is still a
member of the Swiss club. He ordered the car with 289 cu.in. automatic, air conditioner etc.
After his death the car has been sitting in a collection, water drained from the engine which got very rusty in the water jacket, it was always
overheating. I changed it for a ’63 engine 259 with full flow oil filter (much better). I fitted a new crankshaft and bearings and new piston rings
about 30.000 km ago.
I changed the automatic against a Warner T10 4-speed with floorshift. I added a rear antisway bar (a great improvement) and a lot of other improve-
ments. Of course, I bought a new soft top from Hydro-Electric. The attached photos show the car as it is now, used by me for 20 years.
My price idea is € 19,000.– negotiable including a lot of spare parts.
